Ode to Narcissism

Film Suggestions.

There are some terrible things in this world.  Pretending that they don’t exist won’t make them any less present.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the connections between institutions for “reform” or “refinement” and how they almost always (either directly or indirectly) lead to physical and/or sexual abuse.  Does this say something about the patriarchy?  Or society in general?  Or maybe it says something deeper about the innate sexual deprivation or dark nature of man.  I have no idea.  But here are two films I highly suggest; They aren’t pretty, but they will make you feel and think:

1.  Rabbit-Proof Fence.

2.  The Magdalene Sisters.
